BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts
This is a qualification studied over two years and this is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C. It is designed to prepare students for further study in performing arts or for entry into employment within the performing arts or entertainment sector.
What will the course cover?
Students will study a wide range of topics from the structure of the performing arts industry to learning about production and performance. In addition, there are specialist units in Dance, Drama and Music.
How will the course be assessed?
Students will study 6 units over the course. Six units will be internally assessed by a variety of methods e.g.
assignments, practical performances and recordings.
Work is graded by unit on the basis of Pass, Merit or Distinction.
